			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>On <strong>Tuesday 28 January 1997</strong> Charterpoint Ltd set out in the industry as computer parts suppliers. What began as a small local computer parts supplier has grown to become one of the leading global IT hardware suppliers.</p>
<p>Our story began at Woodfield House in Altrincham, Cheshire. The office suited our requirements at the time but as business developed we were restricting ourselves as the facilities were not quite big enough to suit increased demand so in 2005 we relocated to Spectrum House in Wythenshawe. This provided improved office space and increased warehousing space and facilities, provided us with the opportunity to open a full state-of-the-art engineering facility and more importantly, ensured more space for stocking to a greater level for our customers.</p>
<p>More office space of course demanded greater employee investment as we began to trade more throughout Europe. We welcomed overseas languages Account Managers to join and represent our Sales Force. This, and the creation of our website provided us with a platform to increase our global communications and was the main catalyst for our growth towards one of the worldwide leading IT hardware suppliers.</p>
<p>Whilst growth has continued so too has investment with the development of our Marketing Department and further growth with our Sales, Engineering, Warehouse, Logistics and Accounts teams. To help facilitate further demand we opened an office in Moscow in 2010 and are currently identifying a location to open an additional office in USA.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Beginning this weekend (Friday 11 November &#8211; Sunday 13 November 2011), Charterpoint Ltd are to oversee a desk re-arrangement to provide more office space for our ever-expanding Sales Team.</p>
<p>In order to keep staff disruption to a minimal we will be completing the internal works over three consecutive weekends. This will ensure service will remain as usual for our customers and there will be no reduction in our service offering.</p>
<p>The work entails the removal of a wall to create more space in the office and a relocation for several teams all to provide a larger and more productive working environment for our busy Sales Team. Our Logistics, Accounts and Marketing / Web-Development teams will also be moving to more suitable areas of the office.</p>
<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s quite an overdue move really&#8221; said Chris Grantham, Charterpoint Ltd Director. &#8220;Whilst we&#8217;re not exactly cramped in the office there is less space than previous and we&#8217;ve had some additional space available to us for a few months now so why not use it?&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Due to continued and sustained business development we are recruiting for further additions to our Sales Team over the coming months and we require additional space to fulfill these important roles.&#8221;</p>
<p>The work does also bring in furniture improvements, some of which are beginning to get more important, as Chris explained. &#8220;In providing more space we also of course need to provide more desks and office furniture. This gives us a good opportunity to evaluate what additional office desks and furniture we need to replace. Not only do we want all our employees to work in a comfortable office environment, but also it is our duty to provide a safe and appropriate working environment for everyone in line with our <a title="Information on Charterpoint Ltd Health &amp; Safety Policy" href="http://www.charterpoint.co.uk/csr-commitment/health-and-safety/">Health &amp; Safety policy</a>.&#8221;</p>

You can now view your quoting and ordering trends much easier and more visually online with pie charts, graphs and tables to illustrate your stats.</p>

<p>With this you can now view which manufacturers you have had had the most requirement for over a six month period as well as which parts you have had a more specific demand for.</p>
<p>Customers have found the improvements useful, as Charterpoint Ltd Marketing Manager Paul Traill explained. &#8220;We&#8217;re pleased the improvements have shown an initial success. We&#8217;ve been wanting to improve the way we provide our live stats for some time and they are now much improved for our customers.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;The original version was not as interactive and was a much slower service. With the updated version customers are now able to check their quoting and ordering trends quickly and easily. So far customers have found this particularly useful when it comes to making purchasing decisions. We&#8217;ll be making further improvements to the Live Stats pages in the coming months.&#8221;</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Whist some consumer and Governments in USA and throughout Europe are crimping their  Dell spending, businesses continue to refresh servers, storage and PCs. <p>Dell are pulling back from certain businesses such as storage and software reselling agreements&#8230;the demand for <a title="Dell parts search" href="http://www.charterpoint.co.uk/dell/" target="_blank">refurbished Dell parts</a> worldwide remains high however.</p>
<p>In the second quarter of fiscal 2012 (ending July), Dell posted $15.7bn in sales (a one percent increase on 12 months prior). Product sales accounted for $12.6bn whilst services and software revenues rose 6% to over $3bn. Net income was up 63% to $890m. Dell also pushed an incredible $2bn in Dell servers and Dell networking gear in fiscal Q2 (up 9%), though storage sales were down 20%.</p>
<p>Brad Anderson, Senior Vice President of Dell Enterprise Solutions Group suggested there has been no slowdown in spending on <a title="Dell PowerEdge parts search" href="http://www.charterpoint.co.uk/dell/?system=PowerEdge" target="_blank">Dell PowerEdge</a> servers (co-incidentally our best-selling servers). This was expected to continue as uncertainty remain in fiscal Q3 as uncertainty remains around Intel&#8217;s launch date for the Xeon E5s.</p>
<p>Dell&#8217;s storage business is taking it on the chin because the company is no longer reselling EMC storage gear. If you break out the <a title="Dell PowerVault parts search" href="http://www.charterpoint.co.uk/dell/?system=PowerVault" target="_blank">Dell PowerVault</a>, Dell Compellent, <a title="Dell EquaLogic parts search" href="http://www.charterpoint.co.uk/dell/?system=EqualLogic" target="_blank">Dell Equalogic</a>, and DX Object Storage revenues – these are products that are all owned by Dell, and the latter three lines through recent acquisitions that caused the EMC OEM deal to unravel – then Dell&#8217;s homegrown storage sales were up 15.6 per cent to $393m. That means EMC-related storage sales plummeted by 61.6 per cent to $109m. It will take a few more quarters for this EMC business to zero out and make the compares easier for Dell.</p>
<p>The desktop PC business was off 3 per cent, to $3.73bn and its mobile PC business was up 1 per cent to $4.76bn. Dell&#8217;s consumer business, which is mostly PC clients with a smattering of software and services, was only up 1 per cent year-on-year to $2.9bn. Dell said that client sales in its public sector were up a stunning 34 per cent, attesting to the desire to upgrade PCs at government agencies and educational institutions despite the budgetary uncertainties local, state, and national governments are facing.</p>
<p>Gladden said that the US consumer business was a bit weaker than expected, and that in some regions and sectors Dell saw some softness at the end of Q2 and into Q3.</p>
<p>Because of the changes Dell has made to its businesses and the uncertainty of the consumer and public spending in the United States and Europe, Dell is backing off on its revenue projections for fiscal 2012. The company now says it will grow sales by between 1 and 5 per cent, down from the 5 to 9 per cent it previously told Wall Street it could do. The good news is that non-GAAP operating income is now predicted to rise by 17 to 23 per cent this fiscal year, up from a previous guidance of an increase of 12 to 18 per cent over fiscal 2011 that Dell provided earlier this year at its analyst day.</p>
<p>Dell said that it figured sales in the third quarter would be flat sequentially from Q2, which in the wake of the Great Recession has become the new normal for the company.</p>
