ProCurve portfolio gets a shake up with connected blades
HP has announced an expansion to its BladeSystem infrastructure which will substantiate the integration of its ProCurve networking portfolio.
Up until now the company has kept the two product lines separate. However Iain Stephen, vice president of HPs enterprise servers, explained that today's IT environment requires greater integration between the two segments.
"IT managers are faced with a major challenge of having to do more with less while still thinking about tomorrow. They have to deal with ever greater amounts of application and information complexity in an architectural environment that was probably designed quite some time ago, resulting in a very rigid legacy infrastructure."
The new range starts with the HP ProCurve 6120XG and 6120G/XG Blade Switch, whilst HPs ProCurve 8200 and 5400 Ethernet switch portfolio have also been expanded. This includes high-capacity power over Ethernet modules capable of delivering over 32W of power over the network connection.
As in line with product innovation as ever, Charterpoint can provide the full portfolio of HP ProCurve hardware.
